Married in Moscow In-Person
Joann and Jim Mead, authors of Married in Moscow: a Red Hot Memoir in Cold War Times, met while they were teachers at the Anglo-American School in Moscow between 1979-1981. At the time, the Soviet Union had invaded Afghanistan, the United States boycotted the 1980 Olympics, and American hostages were being held in Iran. How do you live in a country where most people cannot and will not speak to you? The government suspects you are a spy and monitors you everywhere! How do you plan a wedding!
